The Professor Role Playing Lore

Dossier: The Professor

Dr. Mordin Solus
- Biological weapons expert
- Light weapons training with Salarian Special Tasks Group
Dr. Mordin Solus is a salarian biological weapons expert whose technology may hold the key to countering Collector attacks. He and his wife are currently operating a medical clinic in the slums of Omega.

“Lots of ways to help people. Sometimes heal patients; sometimes execute dangerous people. Either way helps.”

Mordin Solus is a salarian geneticist, professor, and a former operative of the Special Tasks Group, where he performed reconnaissance and participated in the modification of the genophage. In 2185, he is recruited by Commander Shepard to assist in a high-risk mission against the Collectors. Mordin has a moral character best described as consequentialistic, believing the ends justify the means, though he dislikes taking life without good cause. His actions are often guided by an impersonal logic, refusing to let his conscience, personal, and emotional connections cloud his judgment of what he believes is truly best in the big picture. Though he is affable, quick-talking and friendly, Mordin bears physical scars of his time in the STG and is still handling the consequences of his past.

” Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. I will go wherever you go and live wherever you live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. I will die where you die and will be buried there” Ruth 1:16-17

Sonya Solus both met at the age of 16 Mordin was a professor at the university Sonya Solus, is a brilliant engineer and inventor, her brilliance were first noticed at a early age. Some believe that her genius intellect came from unethical biological engineering, as she was tested on in secret as a child allow her family to gain payment. This was normal practice for a family with ten children who lived in a remote human colony.

At age 16 Sonya moved to Sur’Kesh to attend college (the first human ever to earn a scholarship to a solarian institution). While attending Dr. Solus’s  class she became smitten instantly... Loyal to her husband to a fault she will go anywhere and do anything he ask. Being very protective of him she will accompany him on dangerous mission, weather she is asked to or not. Sonya will not allow anyone to disrespect Mordin in her presence. It is very important to her that they mind their tone when speaking with him, as she will quickly interject and enforce respect if need be. Sonya is a Vanguard and fights up close while Mordin watches her back to insure she does not become overwhelmed by enemies. They are a perfect team in battle as they know each other so well they no longer have to communicate what the other needs from them in a fight.

examples being : Sonya will biotic charge a charging Krogan while Mordin waits for the right moment to Nero-shock, which give Sonya then the opportunity to get back to safety while they both finish him off with gun fire.

these stratigies are no longer thought out, its just what they do, and shows how much they know, love and protect the other.

"...I  honestly believe that the modification of genetic material is unethical”

Mordin paused for a second, took in a deep breath, and gathered himself. The past could of weeks had been especially trying for him. The nature of this confidential universe effecting work that had been occupying the majority of his free time lately has been the most challenging endeavor that he as ever worked on...challenging in more ways than one. Additionally, physically, or biologically rather, he was also dealing with the effects that the yearly Salarian mating season posed on him...Together, the combined effect of these two stress were beginning to become more than he could handle...

Sonya  looked away uncomfortably as she feared she might of  insulted him.

“ I’m sorry… I hope I didn't insult you...or  Sur'kesh...or say anything offensive toward  Salrian culture. I seem...to... always  say the wrong things...when will I learn to keep my Idealistic opinions to myself"

However, because of their unique nature, Salarians are able to ratinally process difficult situations like these non-self detrimental ways. Because of the way and speed at which Salarian minds are able to work, quick responses to even the most difficult situations can be found...usually in the most efficient and principally sound based way as possible.

So, having taken the time to gather and reground himself, Mordin was able to respond to original conjecture...

."No offense taken. There is a human writer/poet/philosopher...Emerson, I believe, who said "All actions are judged from the sentiments in which they originate from". Same principals apply here. No need for apologies. Now...were where we, lost in thought again was I...."

she arched a brow with a pleased smile “ Wow...you know about Emerson?”

"Yes...Very familair with his work, and other "free thinkers", minds similar to his challenge society's view points on the way the world should be...their minds stretch the boundaries of the so call "box" that most think in". "As a professor, I try to do the same for my students". Personal hidden guilty pleasure of mine..."Another famous human philosopher also said that he may not be the one to change the world, but was certain that he'd be the one who inspired the minds that did...Both he and I are guilty of the same dream".

she smiled up at him “ I think you're one of the most amazing  people I’ve ever  met…”

she wanted to add so much more , she wanted to tell him how she felt about him, how he’s inspired her, and fascinated her. He was beautiful in her eyes, and she hoped her crush wasn’t obvious to him…. “You have a beautiful mind, and a beautiful spirit…”

she then smiled up at him  before quoting Emerson “ He who is in love is wise and is becoming wiser, sees newly every time he looks at the object beloved, drawing from it with his eyes and his mind those virtues which it possesses.”

"Funny thing about Salarians, especially in regards to scientists...our minds are always analyzing, searching, probing, looking for truth and reason, reading between the lines. Can tell your true intentions, can make inferences on your true feelings. Very familiar with many other species, humans included. Because of this, feel the need to insist that we refocus topic of conversation and all future office hour appointments to purely academic related topics. Would be in best interest for both of us...However, can't blame you, your taste is remarkable, very flattering indeed.

she looked down in defeat…she wasn’t sure what she was expecting… she let out small bitter chortle as she shook her head, disappointed in herself

.“ I..guess I couldn't hold it in any longer…but… we’re both adults professor…”  she whispered, as she slowly looked up at him with scared, hopeful eyes.

"My eyes...are only as beautiful as the image that is bestowed upon them..." "Wait...Sonya...please...I...you..." Mordin took a deep breath and long pause, inside, he knew that his guard and will was weakening... sexual desires and urges were building up inside of him, and he was feeling the effects of them...."Sensory overload beginning to take place, morals, values, integrity at risk of being compromised...

she couldn’t help but to giggle..” Professor...please ...stop being so adorable…”
